Center for Independent Living of North Central Florida (CILNCF)

  • The CILNCF is a non-profit that empowers the disability community to participate in the community more fully. I have been with the CILNCF for over six years. Learn more about the CILNCF.
  • I know the value of accommodations, access, culture, and independent living in the disability community.
  • I’m a proud disability advocate and always do my best to practice in a way that empowers people with disabilities.

Inclusive Education Services

  • I ran group counseling with students with disabilities enrolled in Inclusive Education Services (IES) at University of Central Florida.
  • We covered a broad range of topics, including boundary-setting and managing peer conflict.
  • Read more about IES here.

iCan! Excel

  • The iCan! Excel program is designed for children with Down Syndrome to gain executive functioning and mindfulness skills.
  • I facilitated group therapy using Expressive Arts Therapy and yoga.
  • This experience was pivotal for my counseling style. Expressive Arts Therapy is one of the most accessible forms of counseling for children and adolescents – I love to use it with my younger clients! 🙂

Florida Dependency Court

  • I was a Guardian ad Litem during my early career, helping children and adolescents through abuse, neglect, and abandonment.
  • I was a mentor and advocate, and used trauma-informed counseling techniques to help children persevere through home transitions.

Seminole County Public Schools

  • I have been a School Counselor Intern in both Middle and High School settings.
  • My main responsibility counseling at a High School was helping students graduate and make a plan for after graduation. I am familiar with course requirements, and school and county resources.
  • I have helped students improve attendance issues, explore career options, feel more motivated, and improve their overall Grade Point Average (GPA) at both a High School and Middle School level.

Orange County Public Schools

  • Using Expressive Arts Therapy, Narrative Therapy, and other group activities in a small counseling group, I have helped helped students improve their self-esteem, as evidenced by the Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale.

Alachua County Public Schools

  • I helped students with disabilities in the High School High Tech program learn organizational skills, practice study skills, and explore career options.
