Questions & Answers

Q: How long does counseling take to work?

A: The amount of time it takes to heal is different for everybody.

Generally speaking, clients take around 8 and 12 sessions to notice significant differences. That being said, many clients begin feeling better and more hopeful after just the first couple of sessions. Here are a few ways you can influence the pace of your growth in therapy:

  1. Consistently attending counseling
  2. Being honest with your therapist
  3. Following counseling recommendations (AKA, doing the “homework”)

Q: What ages do you work with?

A: Kids and teens are the majority of clients I see.

I am a relatively young counselor, which is a huge benefit when working with youth clients. I know the lingo and speak the language, so I can easily relate to my young clients. That being said, I can work with clients of any age, and enjoy seeing adults too.

Q: What are your specialties?

A: Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), anxiety, self-esteem, and disability are my specialties.

I am also trained in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, which helps me work with children and adolescents who are experiencing symptoms of post-traumatic stress.

Q: Do you accept insurance?

A: I am not contracted with any insurance companies at this time.

I have a sliding scale available for clients who may need it and accept a Health Savings Account (HSA) Card as a payment type.

Q: Is your office wheelchair accessible?

A: My office is wheelchair accessible.

For more information regarding the accessibility of my office space, our parking lot, and our business policies regarding accessibility, view the accessibility page by clicking here. Information for requesting accommodation can also be found on the accessibility page.

Q: Where are you located?

A: My office is at 870 Clark Street (Suite #1030), Oviedo, Florida 32765.

I am close to the Oviedo Library and the Oviedo Mall, and a relatively short drive from anywhere in the greater Orlando area. Click this link to get directions to my office on Google Maps.

Q: What if I can’t find my question in this FAQ?

A: If you cannot find the answer you’re looking for, please send me a message.

I will respond within 1-2 business days with an answer. I look forward to hearing from you! 🙂
